I don’t know about you guys, but EVERY SINGLE TIME a holiday or a birthday comes around, I get super stressed out because I have no clue of what to buy as a gift. Like zero, nada, ZILCH! And with the Saint-Valentine’s only in 2 days, I am totally clueless… S.O.S.!!! HEEEEELP!
Please, don’t misunderstand me though! Not that I don’t know my husband well enough, I actually normally have quite a few ideas of what to get for him… when there is no occasion! I always vow to myself that I will remember these ideas, and then I just forget them…
I guess, I should finally learn a lesson and start writing down my ideas! *It only took me 5 years to figure that one out!*
Anyhow, since today is my rest day, I decided to take it easy and do something to calm my nerves down and hopefully come up with an idea for a gift. *Fingers crossed!* And what could be better at that than doing some restorative yoga???
As you know, rest days are just as important as training days. This is the time when our bodies adapt to the previous day’s workout. According to the training guide, I should make this an active rest day. Some of the suggestions are:
- Walk to the store instead of driving,
- Take the stairs at work,
- Park at the far end of the parking lot,
- Every hour take a 1-minute break and stretch
Now you tell me. What are your favorite restorative yoga poses? How do you prefer to spend your rest days? Also, how do you brainstorm for gift ideas?
xoxo

I love child’s pose. It’s sooooo relaxing! I am the worst present giver, I can never think of anything good but I like your idea to start writing things down. Sometimes I peruse Pinterest if I’m really stuck. Good luck! I’m sure you’ll come up with something great 🙂
Pinterest! How did I forget about it??? I’m always on it!!! Thank you, Ursula! ❤ xoxo
Pigeon is my all time favorite pose, I do it everyday. For gifts, I keep running lists through the year of things I like for people so I don’t have to panic at the last minute.
You see, you are a smart girl. I’ve got to smarten up too lol! xoxo
I agree! Coming up with present ideas can be so stressful.. Especially when we just got finished with the holidays! Good luck 🙂
Thank you Alexandra! I definitely need it 😀 xoxo e
Love this ecard! So perfect!
😀
Oh girl I feel your pain on the gift giving. Have you come up with any good ideas yet? I am still trying to figure mine out…
My favorite restorative yoga pose is happy baby. It is not the most pretty pose but it feels so good.
I usually take at least one active rest day a week and what I do, depends on what my body needs. Some days it’s a full yoga practice while others its just a long walk.
I wish, I had a long day at work today and got home only at 8.30pm :-S Have to brainstorm asap 😀

Child’s pose is my all time favorite one! Saturday is usually my rest day since my long run is on Sunday. We might go hiking or for a walk but I try to rest my legs!
I miss hikes! I can’t wait for spring to come already!

Hey Olena! I hear ya on the gift buying! But notes, notes, notes on your mobile is a great way to remember. If you don’t have the Awesome Note app already, download it on your phone a set up a cute little file for Gifts and you can write your ideas down on the go and always have them handy. I HEART my Awesome Note!! I use it for everythang! … Also, love pigeon pose! Great hip opener for my tight as a drum hips. Also, l’m a lover of baddha konasana (butterfly pose) too. Great for sitting on the floor and watching the boob-tube.
Hi darling! I’ll have to check out what they have for BlackBerry, if not I’ll need to find a similar app. Thank you so much for mentioning it to me. xoxo
