For some strange reason, February tends to be the toughest month of the year for me… EVERY year… Without any exceptions! Perhaps, the winter just gets old or maybe it’s the lack of activities outside.
I LOVE being outside! I love going for jogs, walks and simply sitting at a park taking in the fresh air. However, with the super low temperatures and occasional snow storms, it’s *KINDA* hard. So by the end of the month, I start feeling… well… heavy. And no one likes that feeling, right? I can’t be alone?!
Okay, don’t judge me. I know I am fine and I am NOT looking to lose any weight. However, I do want to get rid off this annoying feeling. So I figured that the best way to go about it would be to make my body take a break for a few days from any food that makes me feel that way. In other words, I want to detox my body from all those nasty things that have accumulated inside. *EWWWWW! That sounds bad, eh?!*
I will not be taking any DRASTIC measures because I find that many detoxes are NOT healthy and excessive. So this is pretty much my plan.
These are the foods I will be focusing on and avoiding.
Pretty simple, right?
Planned workout for the day
Run 4 miles, perform 15 burpees every 15 minutes. Followed by this ultimate stretch yoga routine.
Have you ever done a detox? What was your experience? Any tips?
xoxo

No detox for me. I’m hesitant on eating the seaweed and I would completely fail if I had to give up sweets! I’m with ya though, I can’t wait for this weather to be over so I can get to the park!
You’re so funny Meranda! I don’t want to give up sweets *okay, I don’t think I am capable of doing this*; however, I will limit the consumption. I have a super sweet tooth. One thing I noticed though, when I eat less of them, I have less cravings. So this detox will just help me to keep my cravings under control.
I should have mentioned in the post, but I have lots of stress at work during this time of the year, and sometimes it gets out of hand. Thus, simply paying attention to what I eat will help a lot 😀
Oh, and I LOVE seaweed *I actually bought it at Costco yesterday haha*! xoxo
Have you tried seaweed salad? It’s one of my favorites, especially over a little wild rice. Yum!
Yup, I have some in my fridge right now 😀 *yesssssss* 😀
I think if you are going to detox this is the way to go. Much healthier. I like the idea of focusing on healthy eating and living instead of just removing everything. Great post.
Thank you darling! ❤ xoxo
Girl, this is just where I am too – although I do have a few pounds too lose too, I just want to shake this cabin fever feeling!
EXACTLY! My body needs a break & clean eating will do the job. When I eat clean, I feel healthier, happier & full of energy.
PS. I have to catch up with reading of your blog, I’ve been super busy over the past 3 days & gotta say *even if it sounds weird* MISS YOU! xoxo
Not weird at all! I’ve missed you too! xoxo
great post – but I can’t give up coffee!!!
*A small secret*: I had a latte this morning 😀 I’ll have to do this gradually :)))
I haven’t done a detox but I am trying to cut a few of my more unhealthy habits. The biggest thing for me is not trying to switch to a crazy healthy diet because it never works going from my indulgent food to greens in a short time. I’ve been cutting all the processed foods first (like my beloved pop-tarts and artificial sweeteners) and working on getting a little more protein every day. When I’ve mastered this, I’ll add in more servings of veggies daily and so on until my diet is significantly cleaner. It’ll be a 4-6 month process most likely but it’s the only way I’ll stick with it.
Oh, I’m exactly the same way. What I’m trying to do is to stop/diminish unhealthy cravings over a week or so 🙂 Recently, I’ve been craving too much of comforting food and sweets. Gotta break the cycle 😀
I don’t do detoxes because I don’t have the willpower. When my diet gets icky I always clean my system out by eating salads and lean protein. Fruits, veggies, and protein. I’m trying to eat like that all the time but it’s an on-going battle.
Hehe! Same here! xoxo
I am not a big fan of February either! I feel like by this point I’ve had enough of winter and am just ready for Spring already! Good luck on the detox! I’ve never done one but it sounds like you have a good plan.

I am going to be doing a detox but mine is more leaving my money at home so I can’t buy food out! If I eat what I actually plan to eat it would be an amazing detox lol. But yes Feb isn’t a very easy month, but it ends I promise ^_~
Haha! You’re so funny! It’s true though, leaving a wallet behind can indeed help! xoxo
Hmmm I’ve never done a detox before… I haven’t been eating the best lately though, so maybe I’ll join you on this one 🙂
February is almost over though, just tough it out for one more week! Thanks for posting!
Thank you sooo much for passing by! 1 more week indeed! 😀 xoxo
I love these tips, I’ve already cut out soda so I’m looking forward to try some of the others 🙂
Glad you liked it! 😀
