Good morning, lovelies!
What do you do when things don’t go as planned?
Take my weekend as an example.
Planned:
Workouts – 2
Birthday party – 1
Photo shoot – 1
Actual:
Workouts – 0
Birthday party – 0
Photo shoot – 0
*** A little disclosure: I think I’m getting old, the birthday party, turns out, was always supposed to be in a week from now. MY BAD! Haha!
Of course, I could have let this ruin my weekend. But then, why would I do this to myself?! Instead, my hubby and I had a BLAST and:
- spent time with a friend of mine visiting from Toronto,
- had friends over for supper *with their puppy, so Bella had a blast too!*
- had an awesome Sunday with my family-in-law *they are a funny bunch!*
In other words, I wouldn’t change a thing!
Here are some pictures.
*We got to tan! YAY!*
*Bella with her new friend, Mishka. They were hilarious! Look at that flip. No one got hurt. Haha!*
Unfortunately, this is not always a case. Somehow, we do let an unexpected change in plans affect our mood, like a workout that didn’t go according to our expectations. However, if you think about it, this is the worst thing we can do to ourselves. Not only that something didn’t go as we wanted, we let it affect us. But then, we don’t pay attention to little things that can actually make our days unforgettable! Don’t you find this a bit ridiculous?
A few days ago, I was reading a post of my fellow blogger, Stephanie from Crowned in Victory. She listed 16 simple *yet GENIUS* steps to happiness *please, make sure to stop by her blog and give her some loving!!!*. Here they are:
- Get up before the rest of the world.
- Fall asleep earlier.
- Eliminate processed food from your diet.
- Cook yourself a beautiful breakfast.
- Stretch.
- Buy a 1L water bottle.
- Write down everything in a beautiful diary.
- Strip your bed of sheets and empty your underwear drawer into the washing machine.
- Organize your home.
- Treat yourself, have a luxurious shower with your favorite music playing.
- Go for a walk more often.
- Be random and message your old friends with personal jokes.
- Challenge yourself not to ridicule anyone for an entire day, then two, then a week.
- Think long and hard about what interests you. Develop those hobbies.
- Become a person you would ideally fall in love with.
- Lie in the sunshine and dream about the life you would lead if failure wasn’t possible. Now, act on it!
What are the little things that can make your day awesome? How’s your Spartan 30-day ab challenge going?
xoxo

Glad you had a fun weekend! Haha you really caught those dogs in action. So cute!
I was sooo happy to get that shot! Thank you, Meranda! xoxo
Wow, just reading that list made happy! Thank for the reminder to enjoy the small things, it’s something I need to do a little more of. Your dog is the cutest 🙂
Yay to extra happiness! ❤
I think that for many of us ‘type A’ people, unexpected plan changes can be a really upsetting thing. I used to joke ‘I can be spontaneous if I have enough to to prepare’ 🙂
But over time I have learned to accept and let go. Not worry about how things might change a little, or how it always seems that several things all schedule for the same weekend where I already have a big event!
Great tips – and great pics from the weekend!
Well, you are right. Some changes in plans are not as important and are easier to get over. Thank you for the complement! xoxo
I’m glad that despite the weekend not going initially as planned, you still had a great weekend! It’s hard for some of us to “let our scheduled plans” go, but it’s nice to veer off a little bit and realize we will be okay and actually have a good time in the process!
That’s right, Sara! Thank you ❤
Yay for getting a tan! I got one too this weekend. I am loving the 30 day abs challenge!
I know! I really dislike being pale hehe 😀
Nothing better than the sun!
Oo! This last weekend was tiring and didn’t go the way we had planned. Our outdoor playtime on Saturday was cancelled because my son and I woke up too late and it got too hot in the afternoon to play comfortably outside. We were all a bit cranky at first but it was fine. Sunday we played outside instead. My son and I found some beautiful butterflies who didn’t mind us at all. They let us bend over them and tolerated our poking fingers (I warned my son against touching their wings). We’d put a finger out very gently to their legs and they’d rest a leg on our fingers! After awhile they all took flight and fluttered around us! Just gliding along, almost landing on us sometimes. My son had a blast and was jumping around and shrieking with delight. It was beautiful!
Oh wow! It does sound like an awesome experience. Actually, I think we have this event at Biodome in Montreal where they have thousands if not millions of butterflies flying and you get to walk around. You should definitely check it out and come for a visit! ❤
I love the happiness list and great weekend recap! Beautiful pictures!!! XOXO!! Happy Monday!! 😉
Thank you as always! ❤
Nice! It’s good to go with the flow sometimes. As for making a beautiful day…I need to workout, laugh, and…I think that’s it.
Hehe! Well, you forgot your cute family! ;-D xoxo
